The decision by AC Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng and other black players to walk off the pitch after opposing fans racially abused them was a bold move. The move made the game to be called off.
Since FIFA, UEFA and other football governing bodies have not been doing enough to eliminate racism from the game on one hand and threatening players who walk off the field, the move by Boateng, the former Tottenham and Portsmouth player was courageous and shows that Africans are coming of age.
Africans in all walks of life ought to capture this momentum and celebrate their self-worth, be confident and proactively determine their socio-political and economic destiny. They should collectively defy leaders who divide them, cause them to fight and kill each other, and drive them on the road to serfdom. They ought to boldly say no to international trade practices and partnerships that impoverish the continent and pit African nations against each other.
