1. Webmaster
The webmaster will be responsible for the design, development, promotion, maintenance of quality and supervision of its websites.
Key Skills
At least a basic grounding in the following
- HTML/HTML text editors (FrontPage/Dreamweaver) Perl, UNIX, CGI, JavaScript
- Graphic design
- Search Engines
- Web Design
- Enthusiasm for web technology
- Excellent editorial and communications skills
- Thoroughness and an eye for detail
Qualifications
The successful candidate should possess a fairly in-depth knowledge of web design; have a degree in an IT related discipline and/or at least 1 year's full-time web development experience.
2. Editor
The Editor will be responsible for content, production, planning and coordination of a weekly online magazine.
Key Skills
- Excellent literally skills – Knowledge in Swahili language will be of added advantage
- Excellent communication skills
- Research and interview skills
- Knowledge in photo editing
- Planning and coordination skills
- Awareness of basic journalistic principles and news styles
- Thoroughness and an eye for detail
Qualifications
- University degree in English (a diploma in journalism will be of added advantage)
- The candidate should have worked as a newspaper writer or editor for at least one year
- Working knowledge of journalistic writing, editing, graphics and photography
- Knowledge and/or experience in online magazines preferred
3. Marketing Manager
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and implementation of marketing plans that will make the IREN brand visible and targets achievable.
Key Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Research skills
- Thoroughness and an eye for detail
Qualifications
- University degree in a business related field with a bias in marketing/ commerce/business administration. Professional skills in sales or marketing will be an added advantage.
4. A 3-month internship for the year 2008
IREN is seeking to recruit interns on a 3 months rotational program for the year 2008
The successful intern(s) should be:
- A graduate/undergraduate with a proven track record of research work
- Willing to work full time in the organisation for the 3 months
- Prove that they were/are active in their respective SIFE chapters
