The Road to Prosperity

For a country to be affluent, several interconnected factors must come play. Prosperity starts with human beings. Human beings are the only species endowed with the ability to create wealth. To do this, they need knowledge. This knowledge, which the philosopher of freedom Friedrich Hayek says could be both codifiable and uncodifiable is used in trade, the basic economic activity of man that gave rise to civilization. It also enables man to meet other people with knowledge in urban centers by means of transport and communication- the economic impulse of an urban conglomerate to generate prosperity through a vast hinterland. People, knowledge, trade and infrastructure thrive better in an environment of economic freedom and security.

The mentioned factors are the labour of the current issue of your favorite magazine: The African Executive.
